The Honest Kitchen - Thrive (gluten free, chicken based)

Thrive - for dogs, gluten free, AAFCO approved, hormone free chicken protein. If you're looking for something a million times better than kibble and you're just not ready to feed raw food, this is the answer for you!  Consisting of 100% all natural protein, some organic foods and this particular variety contains quinoa which is *not* a grain!  Quinoa  is naturally gluten free and is a complete protein which means it contains every single amino acid including lysine which is essential for tissue growth and repair. The Honest Kitchen is dehydrated *raw* food which means you get most of the benefits of raw without the cootie factor.

But you wanna know the really cool thing about The Honest Kitchen besides its convenience?  You can use this food as a base to which you can add your own fresh foods from home!  Being AAFCO approved means that this food contains all the vitamins and minerals per the AAFCO standards and if you so like you can use 50% The Honest Kitchen and 50% of your own foods (raw or cooked) from home.  Not only will this stretch The Honest Kitchen food (and your budget) but you'll also be doing your dog a great service by increasing variety in his diet.  What to add?  How about some eggs, some other meats (lamb, beef, pork, etc), some cottage cheese, some yogurt.  Pretty much the sky's the limit.  It doesn't get much more versitile than that.

Here at K9 Raw Diet we use The Honest Kitchen as emergency food (which includes "oops I forgot to defrost dinner") and we use it for travel.  You just can't get any more convenient.

Add water and pour!  Each container will make approximately 4 times its weight in fresh food when rehydrated.  Whoo ya.  For every cup of dry Honest Kitchen you want to add about 1 - 1 1/2 cups of water.  How much water you add depends on how your dog likes his food but all you need to do is experiment a little and you can't go wrong.  Mix the food well, let it sit for about 5 - 10 minutes and feed.
